Ok, so we're finally making great progress in the house.. we had the sheetrock hung, and the finisher scheduled, then we found out we had to have the water turned on for the finishers to be able to mak the mud.
No worries, called the water company, they came out the next day.. but were unable to hook it up because there was a "leak" in the front yard... so we had to call the septic tank people to come and see what was wrong.. everyone's super busy becuase of Christmas next week, and it'd be a day or two before they were able to come out, so Josh got a shovel that night and decided to find out what was going on. Come to find out the septic guys had completely removed a section on the water main from the road to the house...
after we knew the problem they were able to come out first thing the next morning, but didn't test the line in case Josh had something open... so Josh made a detour during work and came out to the house to check. He found that it was working great, but inside there was really low pressure, so he walked out back to be sure all the faucets outside were off and when he did, he found that all the little holes on the back patio that the termite people had drilled to treat had water bubbling out of them...
Great... so we called the termite people to try to figure how they could have possibly hit water only 4" from the house under the patio slab... they had a plumber come out to look for a bit yesterday and he wasn't able to find anything. He said he'll come out sometime soon and look again, but doesn't know when with the holidays coming up... so... no water ;o(
Good news is, God has blessed us with the best neighbors imaginable. They have been letting us use electricity since we bought the house, and now we're borrowing their water too for the sheet rock guys...
I hope everyone has a great a safe and Merry Christmas...
Oh, as a side note, Gavin's favorite song is "Happy Birthday" (no lie, we sing it EVERY night at bedtime...and he blows out an imaginary candle) so he was uber excited when they had a birthday party for baby Jesus at school Thursday... complete with cake, the song and candle... so now he's even more excited about Christmas becuase not only does Santa get presents, but we get to sing happy birthday too ;o)
